Koalas
By Hephzibah O
Her quiet abode
Restful and peaceful
Relaxing in her tree
Still alive
In the summer blue sky
In an instant
Fires start to form
Blazing and soaring through the trees
As homes disintegrate like bubbles
Crying and shrieking in the air
Many at death’s door
As she murmurs for help
Her weak body screams for comfort
When she sees her friends get rescued
Slowly but surely
She lies there spiritless….
