Labadi Beach

Feet signing the sand
toes sinking into the grains
the sun spotlights her
the breeze brushes her hair
Her melanin shimmers, glows, sparkles
Golden hour 7:25 am
the waves migrate to the shore
white, beige and blue
Horses prance around
people splash in the water
the waves shield her like a blanket
shells pop up as a surprise
Kube fi nnua so hwe ase.
Nhaban no yɛɛ gyegyeegye wɔ mframa no mu.
nnwom a wɔbɔ wɔ mpoano.
ma mete nka sɛ mewɔ asomdwoe.
Coconuts release from their trees
palm leaves rustle in the breeze
the magic of the beach
makes her feel at peace.
