Water slowly crashes on the surface,

finches chirp in the trees,

the smell of sea salt mixed with wet grass,

hits my nose, my senses

fuelled by the fresh air

as it touches my cheeks,

while I sit and feel the solid

of the rock as I lean back

It’s mid-day,

the sun looks luminous

as it glares in my eyes.

I observe flies buzzing around my face,

and I spot a lizard stealthily slithering around.

Staring at the admirable, lakeside view,

time stands still.
