Leaves

Autumnal coloured patches on the ground
Withered but familiar I have found
Underneath my feet they lay
Veiny and some crumpled away
Mostly narrowed, ribbed but not decayed
Resilient and fragrant they have stayed
They swoosh against me all around
These fallen fragments that have hit the ground
I scoop them up and let them fall
I am a giant tree and I stand tall
