Silver, but rusty brown
Musty yellow, a rainbow of speckled colours
Its surface scratched and textured
A coarse chipped away coat, hiding the true beauty of the once shiny aluminium
Mysterious
Peeling under fingertips
Smooth, yet rough
Unique
Different amongst so many
The metal, even and cool like ice that will never melt
Holder of a secret
A relic of the past
Decades old
Unlocks a door
Begging to find its match
A ribbon, torn
Furled
Feathery like an angel’s wing fluttering
Longing to be free
Intriguing
Left in the world
Whispering, sharing directions to its pair
