In a large hollow hole

Lay a numbat all cold

It was pouring with rain as the wind howled

All the little numbat wanted was to go home

He started his search he looked left and right

But still couldn’t find his way in the night

Although the light wasn't so bright

He paved the way strong with might

The moon shone and leaves swayed

As little numbat made his way

And there she was with a smile on her face

Little numbat's mother stayed awake

With glee, with pride, little numbat ran

To the place his journey began

With his mother he wasn’t sad

He was in the place where he felt glad

Some place he’d rather go

Some place called home
