Looming Layers Of Leaves

Diving in between the trees,
I listen to the peaceful breeze,
Shining sun blinds my eyes,
The trees looming above me, high above the clouds,
Smooth dirt floor, 

Wrapping my arms around the trees,
Calm, tranquil, placid, 
Fresh memories seep into my head,
Remembering the times of being here,
I look up at the brown bark,
My heart one with nature,

My footsteps, loud, drumming through the dirt floor,
Insects and Creatures hide in the hollows,
I yearn to stay here, never wanting to leave, 
Staying near the lush evergreen, the layers of leaves

I close my eyes, take in the surroundings,
The nature smell, the leafy green,
This is where I want to stay,
Home is where my heart is,
