Short dark bill,

Patterned feathers,

Spots that look like eyes,

Keeping them safe,

Tricking a predator,

Malleefowls need protection.

Searching for food,

Nibbling and crunching,

Berries, fungi and flowers,

In southern Australia,

Their habitats are in danger,

Their homes are destroyed.
