Always be captured in its clear plastic case,
Smooth like a polished gem,
Coloured like a tiger eye,
Forever sitting in my badge collection,
Always being my prized possession,
If it could talk it would say, “Help me!”
From its transparent tomb
If it tried to leave it couldn’t escape,
Solid and freezing like titanium,
Feeling excited when my eyes first met it,
Reminding me of my parents’ distant home,
And the township attraction – an insect dome,
Even though we didn’t stay there for long,
My special family memories will always be strong.
