Midnight
it collapses into the earth
steeling the land of light, like a black whole
a stealer of life, filled with loss
welcoming the silence

Silence
it thickens the air, making it impossible to breathe
making the tension nearly unbearable, like a thick blanket
a whisper of hope, tiptoes over me
following a whisper.

Whisper
It creeps across the sky, following a silent bird
chasing the wind, like a shark chasing its pray
a carrier of secrets, both good and bad
greeting the light
