The earthy green mess erupts into the ground of flourishing greenery

and deep tree pine that glittered the sky

creating a gorgeous shade that smelled of wet dew and fresh cucumber.

The trickle of sunshine crystallised through the burnt tree branches

that shone on the endless arrays of New Zealand Fern.

Small tropical ants sizzled up the side of a gum nut tree leading a long line of soldiers into battle.

The rough crunch of maple leaves rumbled underneath

the soft soles of my boots.

The morning air intensified in my lungs

as I seeped in all the air I could manage in a large gulp.

The sweet whisp of wind tickled my ears as I watched

the little water puddles ripple with the small raindrops that had started to fall.

I felt safe.

I felt at home.
