Mother nature’s cries are deaf

To her children while ripping the skin of our beloved mother

For what?

To pave stabbing roads

And buildings on her burning flesh

Her children pour oil over her and laugh while she chokes on gasoline

Abused and beaten by once-loved children, now thorns to her dying heart

The rain we cherish is mother's tears flooding our homes

Yet we still harm her and by ignoring her, we are harming ourselves

The once vibrant green hair she owned was ripped off and used for boats, houses and so much more

There are children who fight for her freedom,

For her health

But are no match for fists of fossils fuels

Her throat burns and blazes from her screams of pain, the ice that could have cooled her, melts with every breath she takes towards hope

Mother nature’s dying, yet her children ignore her calls for mercy
