My Amethyst Crystal

My amethyst crystal is as purple as the heather.
It is as bright as the sunrise, as sharp as a knife.
White spots like freckles as it shimmers in the summer sun,
And dents like craters on the moon.
Layers like cake, grey, purple and white.
Grey like dark storm clouds,
Looks like purple teeth sitting on crunchy white snow.
Cool like the end of my nose in winter.
Given to me by my mum,
It was a gift from her friend.
It sits in my room on a shelf just waiting to be held.
When I look at it I feel like there is nothing there but the crystal and I.
I dropped it one day and it cracked it in half, I was so upset that I cried.
Some pieces of rock fell off, and some crystals as well.
But now I am left with two pieces, and each fits in the palm of my hand.
I love my amethyst crystal, and I hope that when I’m older my kids will too.
