My Australia

The story of Down Under is not as it appears,  

Aboriginal communities torn apart,  

The trees are dying over the years,  

Animals gone as humans rule,  

But the worst is yet to come, we fear,  

The dry, harsh landscape overpowering,  

Iconic natives washed out slowly,  

My Australia is not so homely.  

Sydney Harbour, Uluru, ACT and Kangaroos,  

All these things are becoming weary,  

But as we continue, it just might be,  

These beloved things we may not see.  

My Australia, not so strong. 

My Australia... 

But why can't we see it?  

Let’s act now, 

Before it's too late. 

My Australia...  

We’ll make it great!
