My Best Friend

I’m cute and cuddly,
And always flee,
I’m so hyped up,
No one can catch up.
I’m black and white,
And I sleep at night,
I’m as agile as a cat,
And sort of fat.
I live on a farm,
But I never stay calm,
I run at the sheep,
Like their a dustheap,
I can jump over fences,
It’s pretty intense,
I really hate the rain,
It leaves me in pain.
When they first got me,
I was filled with glee,
I have a great home,
Cause they always give me bones.
I’m an overactive pup,
Who can always catch up,
I’ll give you a head start,
But I’m as fast as a dart.
I was originally from Melbourne,
My mother was quite stern,
I have two friends,
Their always in trend.
I was born with four brothers,
They were four noisy barkers,
I nip and jump,
But in return I get a bump.
Some days I go to work,
To do some farm work,
I dig up the earth,
To hide some worth.
I’m a big pup,
And I’m still growing up,
My name is Poppy,
And I’m a true blue Aussie.
