My Biggest Love, My Blanket.

My blanket is like my best friend.
My blanket is as big as a door.
My blanket feels what I feel,
When I am bubbly, energetic, miserable, proud and ill.
My blanket symbolizes love,
My blanket symbolizes memories.
My blanket is my shield,
My blanket is my company.
My blanket is like my warmth.
My blanket is like my comfort,
My blanket knows all my secrets.
Although I don’t think they have many of these blankets.
My blanket symbolizes happiness,
My blanket symbolizes laughter.
My blanket soaks all the nightmares away from me.
My blanket is my number one non-living thing!
Explanation:
My poem is about my blanket. In this poem I have varieties of poem styles. Simile, rhyme, symbolism and personification in that exact pattern but two lines of each in one stanza. The reason I did this is because I think I am good at all of these styles. I think my blanket is suitable for the competition because I have a lot of feelings for my blanket, and I have a lot to tell with this blanket. I named the title ‘My Biggest Love, My Blanket’ because I have so much love for my blanket, I cannot explain. The reason I chose my blanket is because I had this blanket a really long time since I was five, and I still love it. I got this blanket for Christmas in 2008 from my grandmother. My grandmother knitted it. This is a special item to me because my grandmother has passed away now. I always sleep with this blanket because sometimes, when I go to sleep, I think of my grandmother and all the memories I had with her and the blanket. And this is one of the greatest thing of her that I can cherish for ever.
