Your dull, black cover,
Your snow-white pages,
Open wide a window,
Into the past ages.

You reach into my body,
Flowing in my brain,
Pulling forward memories,
Through the empty lanes.

At first I was mistaken,
Thinking you were normal,
Till I opened you wide,
I realised you were immortal.

I loved my great grandma,
This book is my bond,
Connecting me to her,
Even when she is gone.
