My Candle

Pink like the edge of a sunset
Yellow like an airbrushed lemon
Flick the thumbwheel on my cherry-red lighter
Sparks
The flame performs a swaying dance
Replying to the slightest breeze
Glide to the wax cylinder that is my candle
With the pink and the yellow box
Escort the flame
To the wax covered wick
Transform into a fireplace on icy winter’s night
Aroma like a sweet shop
Peppermint
Sweet fruits
Crisp apples
Juicy raspberries
To put my cluttered mind at ease
