My Chinese Ball

Jade, smooth, bumpy, soft
When stared at, taken to a world of wonder
Greater than the thinking cap
Full of mysterious, perfect holes
That play so many roles.
Covered in intricate patterns
Hand carved with heart
A desk monument
Finer than sand
A ball for the palm of your hand.
The sign of wellbeing
A ball inside a ball
The colour of a green pond
Something that goes ka-chunk
But something too valuable to do a slam-dunk.
Far more precious than gold
The roundness of the moon
Jade, smooth, bumpy, soft
When stared at taken to a world of wonder.
