My Dog

My dog has fur that glitters in the sun,
And her eyes are as black as the night sky.
She shivers like an earthquake on a cold winter’s night,
And she will swim for hours on a hot summer’s day.
She is as quiet as a mouse when she passes by,
She is as sneaky as a fox when she is in the house.
My dog is as quick as lightning on a happy day,
And as slow as a snail on a bad day.
She has fur as soft as the snow,
And paws so smooth and precious.
She was a gift from parents,
And she has been by my side since I was one.
I love to play games with her and watch her play tug of war,
And I love to run around at the park with her by my side.
She protects my family and I from danger,
And will bark when something is nearby.
When I am scared or deeply sad she will sit with me,
I can trust her to stay home in the house,
And she can protect me when I feel unsafe
And that is why I love her so much.
