I held kids in my branches

I saw history being made

I saw the greatest moments in a human life

All lost to a fall of a blade

This park is my home

This mound is where I stand

And I give one last moan

As I fall to the ground

I lie down in a valley

As the birds who lived on me

Begin to call a volley

As I get free from my bindings

I smash on the ground

The sympathy of the water calls upon me

And before I knew life was like this

Then my life faded away

And i’m just staring into darkness

As the truck pulls up

When the starkness of fire reaches me

And for forever, sucks me up.
