As we got given them one by one, my thoughts flashed back to all the fun,
The memories and the friends that have been with me to the end,
The times that I’ve been sad and the times that I’ve been mad,
The times that I’ve been happy and I know that this is sappy,
But I’m no fool, to miss my dear old primary school.

I excitedly grabbed it and hugged it tightly too,
It was cute, black and white, I know that is true,
But it wasn’t unique not quite just yet, it was too plain and simple to be kept.

We all stood up for the time to make our bears ours,
We all took out our permanent markers full of power,
And started walking around, leaving a mark on each other’s,
Our parents stood at the side shedding a tear, mostly mothers.
As the teachers told us that we had to stop and go back to our classrooms,
I couldn’t believe my time at primary school was ending so soon.

I admired my graduation bear,
So new, no rips or tears,
But now in its all new glory,
With everyone’s signatures and messages all over it, telling a story,
My graduation bear.
