My Jungle

The thin trees tower over all the native Asian wildlife,
Emerald green leaves fall to the ground like tear drops,
Sprouts shoot up in the moist soil,
A murky waterfall trickles into a creak of deep water,
Vines hang over the entrances of caves like long locks of dark green hair,
The glowing sun emerges from the trees,
Waking all the sleepy animals,
A flock of Hornbills fly overhead,
Screeching their dog-like call,
The sky settles from a burning red to a cloudy blue,
Monkeys swing from tree to tree,
As an elephant family lathers themselves in their ancient sunscreen,
Venomous snakes slither,
Scavenging for their prey,
An Asian Water Monitor sunbathes in the hot midday sun,
Fish swim around aimlessly in the fast flowing creak,
In search of a seaweed snack,
Green Tree Frogs - their skin as slimy as Aloe Vera,
