My Koala Toy

You’re the oldest and biggest, sitting on my bed,
You came with my dad from Sydney.
A koala you are my friend,
Beads lie within you, no flesh or bones,
But that’s not the fact, it’s that you’re special to me,
But am I special to you?
Your fur is almost silk,
Your shade of grey is a compliment,
Brown eyes suit you, they’re the colour of mud.
Your white belly has faded over time,
You stand out with your beauty,
And that’s why you’re special to me.
More koalas are your friends,
They're all younger than you,
But none of them contain better memories than you.
I bring you to places, overseas or a sleepover,
We have a friendship that can never be broken,
You are my canister and I fill you with memories.
