My koala’s home

As I eat my eucalyptus leaves getting the savoury juices out
I notice my tree starts to sway
In a motion making me feel almost sick
I look down and realise my tree is burning into a crisp
I try dodging the furious flames
I plead for help trapped
My body starts burning as if it’s lit a flame
It’s only been ten minutes yet it feels like hours
As I curl my body trying to keep cool
I hope for a saviour
As I am short a few breaths
And eyes so dry I can barely see
A blurry shape forms
It’s some sort of human
They pick me up and run
I’m so comfy in her arms
So I fall into a deep sleep
As I wake up I don’t see the blossoming trees or hear the birds chirping
But instead a person mumbling to me
I was SAVED!
