My London Globe

Sitting on my desk, beside my bed, is my globe
It comforts me when sad and brightens up my day
Bought at Trafalgar Square by myself
It reminds me of my cousins, who I miss, who live over there
Inside the globe is the Houses of Parliament along with the Big Ben
The snowflakes that float up and down are my favourite thing
Its colours - red, green, yellow, blue, gold and white, are starting to fade
The red bus still reminds me of the trip all around the town
The smooth glass is as cold as ice
As I run my hands over it I hold it tight
I’ve dropped it down the stairs before and chipped the corners
Now a treasured object just for me, I take care not to break it.
Looks like my mum, gentle and kind
Feels like my dad, rough
Nobody knows why I love it
Only I value it, nobody else sees its worth
I won’t pass it on to anyone else
It reminds me of happy times with my family overseas
Without it I would feel very sad
I love it very much, my London Globe.
