My Luckies

My little luckies’ have taken me places that I could have only dreamt of going,
Homebush, Sydney Olympic Stadium
Preparing for my 100m sprint,
I knew it was all up to my luckies
To make me fulfilled
To make me feel like a true champion
My blood was pumping
My heart was pounding
As the official marshal called myself, my luckies’ and 11 other anxious
Competitors to the blocks
Like a dozen of scared little mice,
Knowing that we all are about to get sprang upon
These little luckies’ are more than just luckies’
These are my beauties
These are my ying to my yang
These are my spikes
My luckies are my spikes. My luckies are special to me because they have shaped me to the athlete I am today. I have had these spikes for nearly two years now and they have never let me down. These have won me athletic carnivals, cross-countries and park runs. These spikes are my idol.
