He roams around my room guarding me from dangers
His skin as rough as a mountain
Thud. Thud. Thud.

His eyes show kindness, and sadness too
His skin shows the ancient memories with me
Stomp. Stomp. Stomp.

If anyone comes close he toots his trunk
His ear sagging along wanting constantly to be fixed
Toot. Toot. Toot.

He has a lion heart that my sister made
His stitches show the celebrations we’ve had:
Falling away from each other trying to grab each other’s hands

Thud. Thud. Thud.
Stomp. Stomp. Stomp.
Toot. Toot. Toot.

He keeps me safe
My Elyphanti and me
I love him and he loves me.
