The first flattering thing I find
Dinging and buzzing down on my bed, how kind
Not so lucky to discover
If not for my phone I wouldn’t have uncovered
The terrifying truth of my main man’s fate
Pale skin, stomach turning, struggling to the gate
The fright of day, finally
I see him, not what I had expected
He had timed it kindly
I wish he could’ve kept it
So fresh faced he stormed with confidence
And in his hands a gold shining ring
so intense
Heart pumping, my body was screaming
I leant towards him over the bridge
My phone fell from beneath as he upped his game
But then….
This unexpected surprise went up in flames.
