My School Captain Badge

I could hear the school cheering for me,
As I steeped up, I froze,
And couldn't believe it,
Those days were memories,
But this badge was life changing,
You could smell the pure gold made from it,
The words school captain printed on it,
I made a promise,
To make the school proud,
And I hope I did.
But now it lies on my bedside table,
Tucked in a sparkling case,
Forever to be with me.
