My Weathered Boots

Covered in red mud, full of red dirt.
They have seen my world over and know how it works.
They have been to the drought and seen how it hurts.
They have gone flying off bikes and ran through what once was water works
They have seen all my family and the dogs at work
But they have also had their share of old fashioned hard work
They have taken on barb wire fences and brown snakes
They have also been practicing using the accelerator and brake
They may not be jewels, they may not amuse
But that doesn't mean they are nothing to me
They are mine, my memories, my heart and soul
And if anyone touched them I'd be sure to blow.
