Nature of Humans

Nature is the source of our world
Yet we destroy it,
Expecting it to return,
It never will
Because we have done too much to make it want to come back.

The Earth has been good to us,
And this is how we pay it back?
With things to kill it,
To poison it,
To make our only living recourse sick.

Humans do not deserve the world.
Some do.
Some do not.
So do not say that the world owes you something.
Because it doesn't.
It doesn't owe you anything.
If anything, we should give it a living,
Let it live out its shortened life because of us.
