Dear elder Mountain
sitting motionless day after day year after year soaking up the sun’s golden rays.
Have you noticed the land around you darkening and dying.
Have you noticed the fish in the rivers diminishing more and more.
Have you noticed the fire and the flood raging around you?
Have you noticed the world seems to be at war with itself, smoke staining the sky like blood, the river rising like a hungry dragon to pull its prey down to the depths.
Yet you sleep on, while the war rages around you, the world is slowing burning.
