Nature's Gifts

The possum, releasing her tail, or inner worm.
Moving, leaping, eating.
The possum, climbing like a skilled rock climber.
Sleep, fly, move.
Her eyes whisper, ‘Have we met?’
Moving, cruising, exercise.
Her tail curled up like a cyclone.
Crunch, squash, zoom.
The possum, her eyes glow like a fire.
Crash, yum, snooze.
The possum, lovable as a pet.
Hunt, love, dive.
I am moved by her love.
I’m flying away,
Trying to help her,
While she’s performing with her sashay.
She is like my pet,
Loving her to death.
But soon it will all be gone,
In one simple breath.
