I’m a Northern Hairy Nosed Wombat

I’m fluffy, cute and some say rather fat

I have pointy ears and a medium size

And dark black patches round my eyes

I am kept in wildlife parks

Away from dogs and noisy barks

These places are in Queensland

My only places on this land

I eat grasses, weeds and roots

Fighting them off from brutes

Kangaroos coming after me

I’m not sharing my food, meanie!

Wild dogs, habitat loss, foxes, too

I am hunted all night through

Life is very dangerous for me

I’m one of the last left, see?
