Northern Lights

A rush of feathery waves flooded the starry night,
Shades of green danced across the sky.
The beautiful wisps of light were so bright,
You could see them from far, far, in the distance.
The small village below stood in awe,
The night was silent.
Only the crunch of boots and snow could be heard,
Light gusts of wind blew the dry, icy leaves
Across the cold snow heaped ground,
As the amazing lights moved in the sky.
Hues of blue, and purple, began to fill the atmosphere,
And the villager's hearts were warmed.
Their bodies filled with joy,
And a beautiful memory they will never forget.
