Oasis at Night

Sand squishes between my toes sticking like hard glue
Blistering torch in the sky shines down on me, sneering
Energy failing to win the race against the desert
Nothing, just endless sand and clear blue sky
Something glints within my eye
An oasis, where I can lie
Dashing over, wind in my hair
Making my way closer over there
Dense great green giant palm leaves
Rich ripe fruits dance on the trees, blowing in the breeze
Deep dark blue waters, sun bouncing off the water having a blast
No more sand it's time for fun, fun, fun. Splash!
Sun vanishes behind the trees playing a game of hide-and-seek
Water slowly rolling off my back
Delectable delicious fruit I taste
Laying back on soft warm sand watching the sun leave once again
The stars come, shining brighter than any night light
Illuminating the oasis at night
