Ode to a Mole

Thy tiny claws so very sharp and strong

Whilst small and cute the mole can be quite good

Digging long tunnels and holes all day long

Their tunnels help trees grow which means more wood

They eat food using their poisonous spit

Insects, worms and other creepy crawlies

The moles eat lots of insects, small titbits

The moles never eat anything like cheese

Moles don’t eat any dirt when they dig

They don’t have good eyes so they need to hear

For when something hungry and something big

Arrives, moles need to listen out in fear
