Ode To My Necklace

My necklace, held close to my heart
Keeping me safe from the things in the night
So strong for something small like a dart
Reflects the sun and becomes so bright
My grandmother gave it to me
In the mountains over the sea
I love my talisman like the sun in the day
Just as I would if it were spring in May
Smooth like the ocean, bumpy like the road
The chain and the pendant are stuck in ‘lucky mode’
If I lost it, I might cry in the sea
For I would not be happy nor filled with glee
I love my necklace
And it loves me.
