Ode to the Mango

Exquisite mango
Oh, the way your juice
Steadily drips like a tap
Into my eager mouth
Dripping with saliva
And my eyes as big as
Mangoes, shining as bright and big as the moon.
A glint of silver
We slice deep until we feel the seed
Juice runs out like
A never-ending waterfall
The perfect summer treat.
Beneath the smooth
Thin skin that shines like the sun
Lies the seed of the mango
Hard as a rock
I bite into the bright, yellow flesh
Flavour runs down my throat
My taste buds start to dance.
