Ode to Water

Water,
Like a god.
But beware it can kill.
Boil,
Drown,
Freeze.
But how beautiful you are,
you shimmer and sparkle in the sun.
Saved Moses from his enemies,
perfect for steaming days.
Blue and clear,
You refresh my tastebuds.
Coming home after a hard day,
the drink I desire most awaits me.
When I release you from your prison,
The condensation trickles down my palm.
O, how much I need you,
But at the end of the day you must die.
As you slowly fall down my throat,
You know you’ve done your job.
