Oh little hare, standing over there,

With your little nose twitching, held high in the air,

Living life carefree, like there's no tomorrow,

As you rest your weary head inside of your burrow.

Hidden under the ground, where it's safe and sound,

Blissfully unaware of the horrors around,

Oh little hare, how must you feel?

Not a worry in the world, nobody forced to kneel.

No bombs setting off, no criminals as well,

Nowhere to be bounded by the sound of a bell,

No racism there, no arguments here,

No confusion in your life, your path crystal clear.

Oh little hare, I wish I were you,

Everything you know not false, only true,

Everything you do, predetermined at birth,

Your true purpose in life, one with the Earth.

I wish my life had turned out like yours,

But now we are plagued with work and chores,

How simple and easy your life must be,

Oh little hare, what is it like to be free.
