Old Australian 1 cent coin

Carefully crafted and held by copper,
Grinded into shape by the mint,
Derived by the determined man ,
Traded for food, cloth and wool,
Held by many grubby, sordid hands,
Carried as he traveled on horse and through the bush,
Witnessed by the feathertail glider possum,
Left in the dirt oxidized and decaying,
Gathered by the curious girl,
Showed to the surprised parents,
Staring at the picture of the feathertail glider,
Imprinted on the coin.
