On the Hike

Go for a bush walk deep in the forest,

The light is filtered through the canopy.

The beauty of this place is breathtaking,

The koala nestled in his tree.

He is like a guardian, 

Silently floating from perch to perch.

Using the sun to trick the eyes,

Into stopping you and your search.

The birds flitter to and fro,

Kids, they are acting like.

Squabbling among themselves,

As they fly past you on your hike.

The plant life is breathtaking,

Ferns draping, roots stretching,

Trees shining, vines tangling.

This is what plays in my mind, outstretching.
