Once Was Home

I glide through the beautiful rainbow of coral,
the ikan and their kawans swim beside me.
The sun shining on my shell,
A delicious jellyfish dancing in the cobalt
3, 2, 1, GO! Apa ni?
The plastic sticks in my throat, wrapping around my neck
I struggle to breathe
Ibu, Mother
Why would you bring me into a world of struggle?
Ibu, Mother
Why do these humans do this to us?
Ibu, Mother
Help.
I struggle to breathe,
It’s like my home wants to swallow me.
I want to live
Saya nak hidup
My tears mix with the salty ocean
That I once called home.
