One chance, one chance is all we had to protect our earth,

From the suffocating absence of light dawning on us,

The smoke swallowing the discolouring sky,

Choking on the fragments of inescapable ash.

The fire, its arms forcing an embrace,

And greedily, she devours her prey,

Leaving behind an ashy barren land and scorching rays.

One chance, one chance is all we had to protect our earth,

From the destructive oceans, angered by our ignorance,

It weaves as skilfully as a snake,

Navigating itself through the maze,

And it cruelly swallows our land, and our home.

One chance, we wasted the one chance we had

If we could turn back time, would we do the same?

This is the world we live in,

Our one and only,

Was this all worth it?
