Opal Necklace

I have an opal necklace,
It means alot to me,
Its body looks like glinting steel, its centre is the sea, it comes from
Far,
Far,
Away,
Over the crimson ripples of a forbidding ocean.
It came to sandy shores,
Covered in a sleeping rock, released by an axe.
It was brought a jewellers shop,
With a hundred more,
It glistens like a shining crystal, holding hidden secrets.
It looked like a lonesome heart beginning to now sleep.
Hundreds were staring, waiting to be picked,
But it wasn’t enough.
It took a hundred thousand years to get its life installed.
If it ever went to the heavens above,
I don’t know how I could possibly live
Without its glory’s love.
