Orange-bellied Parrot

Flight like a bee,    
Beyond the trees.

A wild Orange-bellied Parrot soars,    
Glistening yellow meadows explored.

Their vivid orange belly,    
Like bright orange jelly.

A Tasmanian bird,    
Climate change disturbed,    
Habitat burned.

Admirable sight,    
Flies gaining height,    
Dodging the extinction arrows,  
Fighting with all might.

Devouring immeasurable red cherries,    
And plenty of berries.

Sandy islands,    
Heat waves of grey,    
Trees frightened, trees gone away.

Surviving with constant danger,    
Scientists are our saviour.
