I was only two when I got this object.
It was obviously something that I couldn’t reject.
A family momentum, an Indian elephant.
But that was the time I had learned to pant.
‘Remember this,’ my mother said.
The white is peace and the red is prosperity.

This object had something special inside,
I couldn’t afford to do anything else but abide.
Of course I knew that white meant peace,
But will I ever get along with my aunt’s niece?
The red meant prosperity, or in other words success,
However, I wonder if I am not the best?

In this elephant lies a red star,
Which probably meant that I had to get a red car.
I really want to know what my greatgrandfather’s last words were,
But I am pretty sure he said peace and prosperity.
What is up with my family with peace and prosperity?
Success is great, but peace better,
And even my mother reminds me every day,
‘Claire, remember. Peace and prosperity.’
