Peaceful Giants

Eucalyptus
Softly growing
Leaves changing, evolving
Sturdy trunk like a peaceful giant
Trustworthy, reliant
Security runs through our veins
It feels good to be home again.
The possums rummage through knots
Over the lumps and out the top
Feeling stable and unique
If your quiet you could peek
At the kookaburra nest over the ridge
Where they celebrate their differences
With their lorikeet friends
A symphony I hope never ends
Sitting up on top watching the sunset
Or down the bottom feelings complex
Gum trees
Peaceful Giants watching over me
